Each MoH Mural would honor the recipient by including their portrait and a tasteful illustration of them in action, along with their specific branch's medal. The goal is to keep their memory and story alive and educating tourists about all those who went above and beyond the call of duty,.
The Medal of Honor (MoH) is the United States Armed Forces' highest military decoration and is awarded to recognize American soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, guardians, and coast guardsmen who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor. The first Medal of Honor was awarded in 1863 and a total of 3,536 medals awarded so far.
With each stroke of the brush I look to capture the courage and selflessness displayed by these extraordinary individuals. From vivid depictions of battlefield heroics to intimate moments of valor, these murals will serve as lasting reminders of their unwavering commitment to duty and honor.
As visitors gaze upon these larger-than-life portraits, they are not only immersed in the stories of these heroes but also hope to inspire them to uphold the values they represent.
These murals become more than just works of art; they become monuments to the indomitable spirit of those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to defend freedom and protect their fellow citizens.
The murals could be one column or multi-column depending on each community's resources. They would be completed indoors and delivered to their prepared base when ready.
Each concrete column is 16 feet tall and 8 ft wide, making this an impressive and striking custom mural and monument to these amazing recipients.
Still working on the MoH Murals home base to work out of, but it could include a tourist window so folks could drop by and view the progress!
Each column could be covered and illuminated through the night.
Protecting and showcasing the mural.
The ultimate goal would be to Honor all those who've gone above and beyond the call of duty to protect their brothers -in-arms and our country, across the United States.
- Each recipient would have a page dedicated to their story.
- Info like QR codes at each spot to direct folks to each story.
- Educating the tourist and travelers as they travel through Iowa learning about the recipients.
